Pakalolo Supply holds the distinction as the first company licensed by the state of Alaska for marijuana cultivation.  Pakalolo is owned by the Hollister family and operates a 20,000 square foot cultivation and retail location in Fairbanks, as well as a dispensary in Anchorage.

Pakalolo is the Hawaiian word for cannabis.  The Hollister’s have lifelong ties to the island and both their dispensaries are Hawaiian themed.

The company made headlines in Alaska on October 28, 2016 when they made the first legal marijuana sale.  The event was even more special because co-owner Tyler Hollister made the sale to his friend and cancer survivor Mike Pokrivnak.

The Great Alaskan Bud Company (GABCO) in Fairbanks is owned by Shawn Coyle and opened in 2016.

The dispensary received a violation notice in September 2018 for security camera issues when an investigation was being performed regarding moldy product being sold by the dispensary.  The full violation documentation is included below:

Raspberry Roots is an Anchorage dispensary owned by Kimberely (Kim) Cole and Jerry Workman.

The dispensary received press in October 2019 when Congressman Don Young visited the dispensary as part of a larger marijuana industry tour in the city.  He was spotted behind the counter:

Sales began to surge in March 2020 as the pandemic took hold.  Some discounts were put on hold to curb demand as many people began buying larger order than normal.
