Step Back in Time: Independence Mine Opening Day – June 18

It’s one of our favorite summer traditions, the seasonal reopening of Independence Mine State Historical Park up in Hatcher Pass. On June 18, you can walk through restored buildings from the 1930s–1950s and learn what life was like for the hard-working miners who once lived and worked high in the Talkeetnas.

It’s an amazing blend of natural beauty and Alaskan history, just minutes from our Hatcher Pass shop. Grab a few goodies for the road and enjoy the views (and vibes) of a bygone era.
