Mad River Remedies opened on July 11, 2019. Mad River was the first dispensary to open in Montgomery county. MRM was owned by Schottenstein Aphria III LLC, which is a joint venture between the Schottenstein Family, of American Eagle and DSW fame, and Aphria, a Canadian medical marijuana company.
Mad River Remedies was acquired by Verano Holdings on April 1, 2021. Verano is a large multi-state operator with over 85 dispensaries and 11 cultivation facilities. Verano is run by CEO George Archos, CFO Brian Ward and John Tipton, President.
