This location was originally a Verdant Creations dispensary before being acquired by Cresco Labs (along with 3 other Ohio dispensaries) in February 2021 and rebranded to Sunnyside Dispensary.
Cresco Labs is one of the largest, multi-state dispensary operators in the United States. Their acquisitions of Verdant brought their Ohio dispensary business to 5 locations, the current maximum allowed by Ohio law. Cresco also operates a cultivation facility in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Cresco currently operates under the following brands: Cresco, Remedi, High Supply, Cresco Reserve, Good News, Wonder Wellness, FloraCal Farms and Mindy’s Chef Led Artisanal Edibles created by James Beard Award-winning chef Mindy Segal and Sunnyside.
Cresco Labs was founded by CEO Charles Bachtell and Joe Caltabiano in Chicago in 2013. The company experienced significant founder dispute issues in 2021 when Cresco sued Caltabiano. “Caltabiano repeatedly engaged in inappropriate, abusive, harassing and misogynistic conduct directed towards female employees of Cresco,” the lawsuit alleged.
