The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is the central component of health and balance in humans and animals.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

Also known as the ECS, the endocannabinoid system is the body’s way of maintaining balance or homeostasis throughout. When there is overexcitation of neurons, or brain cells, the endocannabinoid system is responsible for the regulatory process that calms the excitation. It’s like a seesaw or balance beam. Cannabis works with our ECS to help with this balance!

Think of it like turning down the volume on a stereo when it gets too loud or the temperature on a thermostat when it gets too hot.

So what does that have to do with cannabis?
