ISSUE:The Division of Cannabis Control (DCC or the Division) is issuing a product recall on a batch of plant material cultivated by the cultivator Pure Ohio Wellness LLC, license CCC000027-00.

This product was tested prior to sale and had passed required testing at that time. The Division received a complaint regarding the product’s quality, and after a secondary laboratory analysis, the product was found to have contained mold in excess of the allowable threshold, therefore, failing to meet Division testing standards.

The Division has placed a hold on all affected products so that no additional non-compliant products are distributed to or sold at dispensaries.  The DCC recommends that patients and consumers who have the affected product either discard the remainder or return it to the dispensary of purchase for refund.

Consuming any amount of mold may cause adverse health effects for individuals who are immuno-compromised or have mold allergies, including nausea and/or diarrhea. Anyone who experiences adverse health effects after consuming the affected product should contact their health care provider immediately and report the event to the DCC at 1-833-464-6627.

The DCC will provide any updates as necessary on this product recall.

Patients or consumers who have purchased this product should check their packaging label for the batch or lot number(s) listed in this notice. If it matches, you are urged to discontinue use and either dispose of the remaining product or return it to the dispensary of purchase for proper disposal and refund.
